Germany (Garmisch), Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland and France (plus Wales and England)
June 26th to 11th July 2010 (16 days)
Day1 26th June.
Depart Dublin to Wales and on to Harwich in England. Board overnight ferry from Harwich to Holland
Day 2. 27th June
Travel on to Hildesheim in Germany where we will board overnight train to Villach in Austria)
Day 3/4/5 28th - 30th June (3 nights)
We will arrive ealy in the morning in Villach and travel the short distance to our hote to drop off our gear.We will spend 3 nights in this area which will enable us to discover the beautifull scenery and roads , travel to Slovenia, Lake Bled and much much more.
Day6/7/8 1st- 3rd July
Leaving our base in Austria we will travel the scenic route to Garmisch in Bavaria where we will stay in an adjacent town. This will allow us to visit the BMW Motorad Event in Garmisch which is attended by in excess of 30,000 people annually. An event well worth visiting even if you do not own a BMW.
Day 9/10 July 4th /5th
Leaving Bavaria we will travel across the Dolimites on to the area of Lake Garda where we will stay for 2 nights . Take it easy and chill out in the hotel on the lake side or arrange to paraglide over the forests and lake . If we have enough interest we could organise acoach and a visit to the Opera in Verona We now enter into Italy and travel on to Lake Garda and on to our hotel on the side of the lake.Here we spent 2 nights which will allow us explore the area,. Anybody who fancies paragliding can also do this from the hotel. Evening meals will be served at the hotel on each night (included)
Day 11 July 6th.
Leaving Lake Garda we will travel across Northern Italy , through the Mt Blanc Tunnel to the Alps where we will stay in Sallanches . ( see the snow on the mountain) and the famous skiing villages.
Day 12 July 7th.
From Sallanches we will travel along Lake Leman (Geneva) through Switzerland and on to Macon in France where will cross the Seine which travel on to Paris.
Day 13 July 8th.
From Macon we will travel across rance ro Montreuill Bellay near Saumur and stay in this old historic town .
Day 14. July 9th .
From Macon we will continue our journey to the medieval town of Vitre in Britanny.
Day 15 ,10th July
Travelling to our ferry we will visit en route Mont St Michel
Day 16
Arrive back in Rosslare.
